Tropical Depression Six has formed in the open waters of the Atlantic Ocean.
At 11 p.m. Tuesday night, the depression was located about 715 miles west-southwest of the Cabo Verde Islands. The storm had sustained winds at 35 mph with higher gusts.
On the current forecast track, the storm will continue moving northwest and will likely strengthen into a tropical storm Wednesday. If it develops into a storm, its name would be Fiona.
The system is expected to stay over the open waters of the tropical Atlantic.
