NORFOLK, Va. - Norfolk State University Director of Athletics Marty L. Miller announced Tuesday a new game-day experience for fans attending Spartan home football games. Fans will be able to purchase beer and wine this season at Dick Price Stadium.
NSU has established the "Spartan Club Zone," which will be located at field level beyond the East end zone track at Dick Price Stadium. Fans must purchase an additional $5 pass that will grant them access to this tented area of the stadium. The passes will be available for purchase on game days only at the NSU ticket booths as well as at the club zone inside the stadium. Members of the Spartan 300 Club and the NSU Athletics Foundation will not be required to purchase passes to enter the Spartan Club Zone.
All alcohol sales and consumption will be limited the club zone. Snacks will also be available for purchase in this area.
"I am excited about this new initiative to improve the game-day experience for our fans as well as improve the revenue opportunity for athletics," Miller said. "Every effort is being made to increase funding to meet the challenging demands of college athletics and the required fundraising objectives that have been established for athletic programs in the Commonwealth of Virginia. We are attempting to provide the same benefits for student-athletes at NSU as student-athletes enjoy at other institutions."
