Rio De Janeiro – Shakur Stevenson hadn’t lost an international fight until Saturday, losing a close bout to Cuban boxer Robeisy Ramirez.
The decision was in favor of Ramirez 29-28 on two scorecards, with Stevenson winning 29-28 on the other.
Stevenson, fighting out of Newark, New Jersey competes at the bantamweight. This is the second straight gold medal for Ramirez.
