Suspect pistol whips customer during Metro PCS robbery in Newport News

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Officers responded to a call of a robbery at a Metro PCS on Wednesday.

According to police, officers found two victims at the establishment located at 72 Colony Road.

A black male, wearing a mask and all dark clothing entered the business brandishing a firearm around 11:30 p.m.

The suspect pistol whipped a customer inside the store and then told an employee to “Give me the money.”

After taking an unknown amount of cash from the register the suspect fled the business on foot.

The suspect is described as a skinny black male possibly in his 20s.

The employee was not struck with the firearm and the customer sustained minor injuries from being struck.

This is an ongoing investigation.
