YORK CO., Va. – A homeowner says four political signs supporting Donald Trump were stolen from his front yard.

Terry Tinney says he heard kids laughing and driving golf carts outside his Shirley Road home on August 27, which is not unusual for his neighborhood.

However, when he woke up the next morning, his wife noticed four of their six signs were gone.

Tinney says he was not angry, but felt he should report the incident to the York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office.

“The principle, the thing is, they came in our yard without asking, and they stole, and that’s not something they should be doing in life,” he says. “I’m a nice guy, I might come out and yell at them, somebody else might do something worse.”

Tinney says throughout the past month, several other neighbors have complained of similar incidents.

The York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office posted on Facebook about reports of stolen signs earlier this summer.

They say stealing over $200 worth of signs is a grand larceny, which is a felony, and damaging a sign could result in a destruction of property charge.

“Remember, it is not worth being arrested, charged and having a criminal record over stealing or damaging political signs,” the post said.

Anyone with information about stolen signs is asked to take action and call the Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
