HAMPTON, Va. – The Hampton University Center for Public Policy (CPP) has released a new presidential poll.
The center has previously been recognized by the Washington Post for its 100 percent accuracy.
The center projects that if the presidential election were to be held today it would be a statistical dead heat.
These results come from August CPP polling of registered Virginia voters.
The poll questioned 801 Virginia voters who said they were likely to vote in the Virginia General Election.
Of the voters, 43% chose Hillary Clinton and 41% indicated they would vote for Donald Trump.
Economy and jobs remain the number one concern of voters and 52% of Virginians surveyed want the next president to make that issue a priority.
The CPP July poll had the same results, that the nominees were in a virtual tie.
These results come as there are just over 60 days until the November 8th Presidential Election.
