Robbery of Virginia Educator’s Credit Union branch under investigation in Newport News

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Newport News Police are investigating a bank robbery that occurred Thursday morning at the Virginia Educator's Credit Union at 812 Main Street.

The robbery was reported just before 9:30 a.m.

Police say a black male wearing a mask and armed with a handgun stole an undisclosed amount of cash from the bank.

He left the scene in a dark-colored Nissan and headed toward Hampton.

The investigation is ongoing at this time.
