VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - It's been a roller coaster for Tallwood High in their 25 years of football.

Head coach John Kepple has been there since the infant stages. He's been with the program since 1995 and has been the head coach since 2011.

With a win over Kellam last week, the Lions are 1-1, and  preparing for a match-up against district foe Landstown.

The Eagles (2-0), have a dynamic offense, which is normal for a Tommy Reamon coached team.

Landstown has wins over Kempsville and Princess Anne to start the season and can now put themselves on pace for a playoff spot if they can win another one in the Eagles Nest.

Tallwood feels that they finally have a solid mix of youth and experience to compete in the Virginia Beach district. "We have a great pool of guys that have two years plus of experience, because they've been starting at a young level," said Lions senior defensive end Cameron Washington.

Game Time: 7 p.m.

Location: Landstown High School
