Elderly woman crashes into Newport News auto shop; hits employee

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – An employee of the Firestone Store on Warwick Boulevard in Hidenwood Shopping Center is in critical condition after a woman hit him with her car.

The call came in just before 1 p.m. on Sunday.

According to Newport News Police, an 81-year-old woman accidentally put her foot on the gas pedal and hit the male employee, who was working on a truck in the bay area.

The woman hit the employee and the lift equipment holding the car.

The man was taken to a local hospital.

No charges have been filed.
