HAMPTON, Va. - Family, friends and bikers gathered at the Buckroe Beach pavilion on Sunday night to celebrate a young life.
Christopher McDonald was riding his motorcycle on Wednesday night when he collided with an ambulance and died from the injuries. It happened on Industrial Dr. and Jefferson Blvd.
McDonald has a 1 year old daughter and a brother and sister who live in Hampton. They, along with dozens of others lit candles and released balloons as a way to celebrate McDonald's life.
Newport News police said the crash was under investigation. Now they have handed the case over to the Commonwealth's Attorney's office to determine whether or not charges will be filed against the ambulance driver.
