Woman robbed at gunpoint during arranged sale in Hampton parking lot

HAMPTON, Va. – Hampton Police have arrested a woman in connection with a robbery that happened on September 8.

Police say officers responded to the parking lot of the BJ’s Wholesale in the 2000 block of Power Plant Parkway for reports of a robbery.

Officers met with the victim, who said she went to the BJ’s parking lot of meet with the suspects to make a purchase that had been arranged online.

The victim said when she arrived at the parking lot, she went into a car with the suspects. The driver pulled out a gun and demanded her money. After the victim gave them her money, they forced her out of the vehicle and drove away in a white, newer model Chevrolet Impala.

Police later arrested Melanie Oliver, 34, and charged her with one count of conspiracy to commit robbery, one count of use of a firearm in commission of a felony and one count of robbery.

Police are still looking for two additional suspects that accompanied Oliver during the robbery.

The first suspect is described as a heavy set black female with a dark complexion. She was last seen wearing sunglasses, a white shirt and black pants.

The second suspect is described as a black female with a medium complexion, thin build and weighing approximately 120-125 pounds.  She was last seen wearing prescription glasses and a pink colored shirt.
