MATHEWS COUNTY, Va. – A woman has been arrested and charged in the stabbing death of her husband, according to the Mathews County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies received a call Friday shortly after 9 p.m. about a stabbing on Shark Drive.
When deputies arrived, they found a man with at least one stab wound.
The victim, identified as 58-year-old Gary Flowers, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Deputies detained Flowers’ wife, Monique Flowers, and later arrested and charged her with murder and unlawfully stab, cut or wound in the commission of a felony. She is currently being held in the Middle Peninsula Regional Security Center without bond.
