VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – A tire blew on a vehicle causing the driver to lose control and hit four poles Thursday afternoon.

The accident occurred at 1:46 p.m. on North Great Neck Rd. at Shorehaven Dr. and Dey Cove Dr. near Frank W. Cox High School, according to police.

Four vehicles, including a dump truck were involved. No buses or police vehicles were involved the accident.

According to police, two people were transported to the hospital and one refused treatment at the scene.

Witnesses say school buses are being delayed because of the incident, causing students to be late getting home.
