Voter registration extended in 36 North Carolina counties

RALEIGH, N.C. – The voter registration deadline has been extended through the close of business Wednesday, October 19 for the 36 North Carolina counties receiving assistance from FEMA due to Hurricane Matthew.

The deadline was originally 5 p.m. Friday.

All counties in the News 3 viewing area are included in the extension. Scroll down for a complete list.

Voter registration in the other 64 counties ended Friday as scheduled.

Voters in the whole state can still register and vote at the same time during the 17-day voting period from Oct. 20 – Nov. 5.
