NEWPORT NEWS, Va. — Newport News Police are investigating an armed robbery in the 4900 block of Jefferson Avenue.
Officials tell News 3 the suspect entered the Corner Mart just after 7 p.m. Saturday.
When the man entered the store, he flashed his gun and demanded money from the clerk.
Once the suspect grabbed the cash, he ran off to a vehicle where a driver was waiting for him.
Police stopped them a few blocks away from the Corner Mart and took them into custody.
Nobody was hurt during the incident.
