Cubs take Game 2 to tie World Series at 1-1

CLEVELAND, Ohio. – Former Norfolk Tides pitcher Jake Arietta threw 5 no-hit innings against the Indians to even the World Series at 1-1 as the Cubs beat the Indians 5-1.

Anthony Rizzo drove in a run on an RBI double in the first inning for the Cubs. Kyle Schwarber singled in the top of the third to bring another run in. The top of the fifth proved to be the game-changer. The Cubs scored three runs, another being drove in by Schwarber to break things open.

Arietta was pulled when a wild pitch allowed Jason Kipnis to score for the Indians. He allowed only two hits and struck out six batters in five and two-thirds innings of work.

Game 3 is Friday in Chicago at Wrigley Field. Josh Tomlin will pitch for the Indians, while Kyle Hendricks will take the mound for the Chicago.
