Man crashes vehicle into tree after leading Chesapeake Police on chase into Norfolk

CHESAPEAKE, Va. – Charges and pending against a man who led Chesapeake Police officers on a pursuit into Norfolk on Wednesday afternoon.

Chesapeake Police say an officer attempted to stop a vehicle at the intersection of Bainbridge Boulevard and Poindexter Street around 1 p.m. for a traffic violation.

The driver, however, refused to stop.

The officer chased the vehicle into Norfolk where the driver crashed the vehicle into a tree at the intersection of Joe Austin Drive and Herbert Collins Way.

The vehicle was reported stolen.

The driver was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Charges are pending.
