Norfolk opens new dog run for canine residents to play in

NORFOLK, Va. – Canine residents in Norfolk now have a new place to get their exercise in!

A new dog run is located next to Muddy Paws Downtown at 400 Granby Street.

The City has worked in partnership with the Downtown Norfolk Council and Marathon Development for two years on the new puppy play place.

The project was in response to the growing population in the downtown section of the city.

Marathon Development donated $40,000 for the development on land provided by the City.

A “leash cutting” ceremony will be help on Friday at 12 p.m.

In order to celebrate Halloween Muddy Paws will also host a Doggie Costume Contest at 12:30 p.m. with prizes for the winning dogs.

Treats for pets and their owners will also be provided.

The event is free and open to the public.
