NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Donald Trump is cutting into Hillary Clinton’s lead in Virginia, according to a new poll from Christopher Newport University.
The survey shows Clinton leading 46-39 percent, but Republican voters are starting to solidify behind Trump.
The new numbers are a big change from a previous poll released by Christopher Newport University’s Wason Center for Public Policy that showed Clinton with a 15 point lead.
The survey finds that Trump has a strong lead among white voters overall, 52-32 percent, and has an eight point advantage in military households.
According to the poll, millennials strongly favor Clinton and she has a significant advantage in northern Virginia.
