HAMPTON, VA. – Family and friends of Hampton University student Joseph Bose gathered on campus to remember him Sunday night.
The 20-year-old was shot and killed on October 31st, 2015.
Police say he was at a party on Halloween night near ODU at 35th and Killiam Avenue.
The party spilled out onto the street and a fight broke out.
Someone fired a gun, killing Joe.
“I don’t know how many but there were several witness and for no one come forward is heartbreaking,” Bose’s father, Ken Bose, said.
Phillip Jackson helped organize the vigil.
He said he hopes it helps shed light on gun violence and keep his friend’s memory alive.
“Whether it was politics, social issues, cultural issues, music, anything like that. He loved talking about that. He was very intelligent,” Jackson said.
Bose’s family say closure will never come but getting justice will bring some comfort.
“This person isn’t just someone who might hurt just my little brother,” Bose’s brother, Alec, said. “It’s someone who could hurt your little brother or your little sister.”
