David Chase Witmer
YORK COUNTY – A man last seen in the area of Christopher Newport University on October 31 was found dead, according to Newport News Police.
On Tuesday, the York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office asked for the public’s help locating David Chase Witmer, who they say was missing since Sunday, October 30.
Newport News Police say Witmer was found deceased Tuesday in the 12400 block of Warwick Boulevard behind a local grocery store.
Police said Witmer may be in possession of a firearm and made statements that made his family concerned for his welfare.
The investigation is ongoing.
