Six confirmed dead in crash between school bus, commuter bus in Baltimore

BALTIMORE, Md. – Baltimore Police now confirm at least six people were killed in a crash involving involving two buses in Southwest Baltimore on Tuesday morning.

The crash occurred between 6:30 – 7 a.m. and involved a MTA commuter bus and a school bus.

During a news conference, Baltimore Police spokesman T.J. Smith said there were two people on the school bus – the driver and the aide. No children were on board the bus.The driver was killed in the crash and the aide was transported to a hospital with injuries.

There were believed to be 13 people on the MTA bus. Five of those people were killed and another eight were transported to hospitals with varying degrees of injury.

Another person in a third vehicle involved in the crash was also transported to a hospital with injuries.
