CHRISTIANSBURG, Va. — Christiansburg Police who investigated claims that a 13-year-old girl was stuck by what appeared to be a needle hidden in her Halloween candy have deemed her report false.
“After further discussions this morning with the 13-year-old girl who reported an object in her Halloween candy, Christiansburg Police have determined a false report was made. The candy was not altered by a third party,” Christiansburg Police wrote on Facebook. “Thank you to all who shared this news yesterday. While we’re pleased this is the outcome, it’s still crucial to take precautions on Halloween and check your children’s candy before they chow down!”
Police responded to the child’s home Tuesday night after she said she found a needle-like object in a piece of Laffy Taffy.
Police sent the candy, the wrapper, and the needle-like object to the lab for analysis.
