HAMPTON, Va. - A 20-year-old Hampton man has been arrested in connection with two shootings in five days.
Hampton Police say 20-year-old Paris Javon Cooper is believed to be responsible for a shooting that occurred November 2 in the 1900 block of Cunningham Drive.
Officers were called to the scene at 4:48 p.m. and found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds outside the Murphy USA gas station. The victim was transported to the hospital and released after treatment for non-life threatening injuries.
Police say the victim knew Cooper. The motive and circumstances of the shooting are still under investigation.
Cooper is also a suspect in connection with a shooting that occurred on October 29 in the 1st block of Derby Drive. The victim in this incident was also treated and released for non-life threatening injuries.
He has been charged with one count of Robbery, two counts of Maiming, one count of Abduction, and four counts of Use of a Firearm in Commission of a Felony. Cooper remains in custody at the Hampton City Jail.
Due to the violent nature of both incidents Cooper was considered Armed & Dangerous.
