Man gets 20 years for transporting drugs around the country

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – A Texas man was sentenced Thursday for conspiracy to distribute more than five kilograms of cocaine and more than 100 kilograms of marijuana.

According to court documents and information presented at trial, 43-year-old Juan Guzman was responsible for using tractor-trailers to transport multi-kilo loads of cocaine and marijuana from Texas and New Mexico to locations along the East Coast, including Georgia, Rhode Island and Virginia.

Guzman was found guilty on April 14.

He was sentenced to 240 months in prison and 120 months of supervised release after his prison term.
