Police: Two people with guns rob Hampton bank

HAMPTON, Va. - Police are investigating a bank robbery that happened Thursday morning.

Police were called to the BayPort Credit Union in the 1100 block of Big Bethel Road shortly after 9:30 a.m.

The initial investigation revealed that two suspects entered the bank with firearms and demanded money before fleeing on foot toward the rear of the shopping center.

About 20 minutes after the bank robbery, police were called to a carjacking in the first block of Hackberry Place. Officers believe that the carjacking is related to the robbery.
