VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - Police say they received eleven reports of shots fired across the city on Tuesday night.

Two homes were hit with gunfire in the 1200 block of Skylark Drive.

Police say both homes had damage to the walls and water pipes.

A neighbor tells News 3 that one of the bullets went through a window of a home and landed on a desk where a child usually does her homework.

A man taking a service call on the street, Jim, says he was outside when it happened around 6 p.m.

He heard a loud, speeding car, and then gunshots.

"I saw the flashes, five pops in a row, pop, pop, pop, pop," he says. "Then he just kept right going. I hit the ground, nervous. I'm not scared that easy and that scared me."

Police say they also took a report for a car that was hit with a bullet on Settlers Park Drive.

News 3 spoke with the driver's husband, who asked to remain anonymous. He says his wife was driving home on Lynnhaven Parkway near Indian River Road on Tuesday, and was about a half-mile from home when she heard the pop.

"She's like, I think somebody shot at me, and I'm like no, and that's when we heard four to six more shots as she was just pulling in, then you know it got kind of real," he says.

Fortunately, police did not have any reports of injuries.

Anyone with information about either incident is asked to call the Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
