NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - A 17-year-old has been shot in the back near his shoulder blade on Thursday.
According to police the incident happened at 2:53 p.m. in the 4500 block of Madison Ave.
The victim has been transported to a local hospital for treatment and police say his injuries are non-life threatening.
Police say someone has been taken into custody but there is no word if that person is a suspect at this time.
