Shooting, attempted robbery victim walks into Hampton hospital

HAMPTON, Va. – The victim of a shooting and attempted robbery walked into the Hampton Sentara CarePlex hospital Thursday evening.

At 8:47 p.m., police received a call regarding a walk-in shooting victim at the hospital.

When officers arrived, they found a 23-year-old man suffering from a single gunshot wound. He is expected to be okay.

According to police, the victim was walking in the 300 block of Jonquil Lane when a man approached him and demanded his belongings.

When the victim ran away, the suspect shot him.

The suspect is described as a black male with a dark complexion around 6′ feet tall.  He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt or jacket and black pants.
