Driver of stolen car chased by police, apprehended in Hampton

HAMPTON, Va. –  Officers responded to the a Quick Stop Market convenience store on Saturday after receiving a call about a stolen car.

The market is located in the 2900 block of Shell Road and the incident happened around 2 p.m.

Officers responded located the stolen vehicle, a 2000 Infiniti, and a traffic stop was attempted. The driver of the stolen vehicle refused to stop and a pursuit ensued.

The stolen vehicle was travelling westbound on West Pembroke when the suspect ran a red light at the intersection of West Pembroke and Aberdeen Road.

The driver then struck another vehicle that was travelling northbound on Aberdeen Road.

The vehicle that was hit then struck another vehicle. Minor non-life-threatening injuries were sustained by one of the civilian drivers and the other civilian driver involved was not injured.

The suspect, an adult male, was apprehended and transported to a local hospital to be treated for his injuries which are considered non-life-threatening.
