Cold case: Man abducted, killed after leaving Richmond restaurant

RICHMOND, Va. — It has been 16 years since someone abducted and killed Donald “Donnie” Harris.

According to CBS 6, Harris was found murdered in his car at about 9 p.m. on Dec. 11, 2000 on Jennie Scher Road near Gilleys Creek.

Friends said Harris left his home on Williamsburg Road at about 8:30 p.m. to pick up food at a restaurant at Williamsburg and Government Roads. His body was found 27 minutes later.

“The persons responsible for this heinous crime abducted and killed the victim near his home. There were numerous people who saw Donnie Harris in his vehicle with at least two other individuals,” Richmond Police Detective Joseph Fultz said. “These persons are possibly responsible for this terrible crime and are suspected in numerous other crimes. The family of Donnie Harris wish only for closure and justice in murder of their beloved family member.”
