Newport News Police search for suspect in Bayport Credit Union robbery

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. -Police are looking for a suspect who robbed a credit union on Thursday.

Police say at about 5 p.m. police responded to the Bayport credit union at 8000 Marshall Avenue.

The preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect entered the bank, approached the tellers, displayed a handgun and demanded money.

The suspect was given an undisclosed amount of cash and left the area on foot.

The suspect is described as a black male about 5’8″ tall wearing dark pants, a dark blue sweat shirt with a hood with his face partially covered.
