VIDEO: Former WWE wrestler body slams would-be robber

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – A former professional wrestler took down a would-be robber who threatened him over the weekend, according to WPLG.

Surveillance video shows Shad Gaspard, 35, walk into a Valero gas station convenience store in Coral Springs, Florida, when he’s approached by a man in a light-colored shirt and dark pants.

The suspect, identified by police as 35-year-old Jason Felix, first ordered Gaspard to buy him a beer, Gaspard said.

“He lifts up his shirt and reaches and grabs a gun,” Gaspard told WPLG. “So he puts the gun into his waist belt and he goes, ‘You need to get out of here, man, because I’m about to rob this place.'”

The weapon, Gaspard discovered after it was all over, was just a BB gun.

Gaspard went straight at Felix, tearing the pistol out of his hand. The hulking former wrestler, who is listed at 6 feet 6 inches tall, weighing 285 pounds, forcibly escorted Felix out of the store, put him in a chokehold and slammed him to the ground.

Gaspard held Felix until the police arrived.

WWE fans know Gaspard as a member of Cryme Tyme, along with partner JTG.

Gaspard, who was born in Brooklyn, New York, has since starred in several TV series as well as the movie “Get Hard” with Kevin Hart and Will Ferrell.
