Pedestrian killed in Norfolk hit-and-run, suspect arrested

Phillip Harrison was charged with DUI and felony hit-and-ru

Dispatchers received the call at approximately 10:45 p.m. and police arrived on the scene at approximately 11 p.m.

NORFOLK, Va. – A hit-and-run that occurred in the 1400 block of E. Ocean View of Norfolk late Friday night has left one woman dead.

When officers arrived, they found the woman lying in the street. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police have identified the woman as 54-year-old Erica Zankli of Norfolk.

The car that struck her drove away.

Police said Thursday they arrested 37-year-old Phillip Harrison in connection with the incident.

Harrison was charged with Driving Under the Influence shortly after the incident happened and police have since secured an additional charge of felony hit-and-run against him.
