NORFOLK, Va. – Crews are working to repair a water main break on Waterside Dr. near the new Waterside District.
The amount of water coming from the break caused the sidewalk to rupture.
One westbound lane reopened around 4 p.m. from Atlantic St. to Main St.
Norfolk Utilities said that the cause of the break was due to a broken clamp on the main, which broke on its own. Repairs have since been made.
At approximately 6:15 p.m., crews said they expect to have Waterside Dr. fully open within the next two hours.
