NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – A water main break was affecting traffic on a main thoroughfare in Newport News.
Authorities said the break occurred in the intersection area of Mercury Boulevard and Jefferson Avenue as you’re heading from Newport News into Hampton.
All lanes are back open at Mercury Blvd., and Jefferson Ave., with the exception of the merge lane northbound on Jefferson Ave., that leads to eastbound Mercury Blvd.
The water main break was reported at 11:14 a.m.
