GLOUCESTER COUNTY, Va. – The Virginia State Police was working a fatal motor vehicle crash involving a bicyclist in the 8600 block of Guinea Road Wednesday night.
A police investigation showed a 2013 Ford F150 was traveling westbound on Guinea Road when the driver struck a bicyclist in the road way.
The bicyclist was identified as 47-year-old Michael Troy Smith. He died upon impact at the scene, police said.
The driver of the Ford, Virgie Lee Carter was uninjured.
Neither alcohol nor speed played a contributing factor to the accident, according got police.
There are no charges at this time and police said the case will be brought before the Commonwealth Attorney’s Office for review.
