Norfolk post office cleared after suspicious substance identified as non-hazardous

NORFOLK, Va. – A suspicious substance found at the post office in the 600 block of Church Street Sunday morning was identified as non-hazardous.

Norfolk Police, fire crews and a hazmat team arrived on-scene and the building was evacuated while the postal inspector tested the white powder.

According to a tweet by the department, units will clear the scene shortly.
