VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – The city treasurer of Virginia Beach told News 3 that he is resigning at the end of the year.
John Atkinson said December 31 will be his last day in office. He has been treasurer since 1978.
Atkinson said that his reason is he just wants some change.
He’s had the job for 41 years and plans on “spending some of his children’s inheritance.”
