NORFOLK, Va. - Thousands dressed in green lined Granby Street on Saturday for the 57th St. Patrick's Day parade in Norfolk's Ocean View neighborhood.

The parade began it's 1.5-mile route at Northview Middle School and marched north.

This year's Grand Marshal was Norfolk Sheriff Joe Baron. Other parade units included the Granby High School Marching Band and Tidewater Pipes and Drums.

Several organizations threw out green and gold beaded necklaces to honor the occasion. Always a great 'people-watching' experience, many of the people who came out took their outfits to the next level with Irish-themed costumes.

Following the parade, a block party at First View Street kicked off at noon.
