CHESAPEAKE, Va. - Chinese restaurants across the country have taken a major hit during the coronavirus pandemic.

Barbara Sgueglia of Chesapeake took action for her favorite neighborhood spot to order Chinese food from.

She said she learned Taste of China was financially suffering and dealt with some harassment.

Sgueglia created a post on Facebook encouraging people from the community to go to their store and show them support.

The owner told News 3 they have been extremely busy since their doors opened at noon on Monday.

"They’ve been such an important part of this community. Everybody in Great Bridge knows them. Everybody loves them. They’re just so kind and they remember everybody’s order," said Sgueglia.

They have been at their location for about 20 years.
