HAMPTON ROADS, Va. - Only 55% of Americans know the true meaning of Memorial Day, with many confusing it as a salute to all veterans. To elevate Americans’ understanding, USAA is leading a Memorial Day national tribute that asks all Americans to honor the more than 645,000 fallen military heroes during a period when the observance’s traditional parades and large gatherings have been cancelled or minimized.
