NORFOLK, Va. - Norfolk has been nominated as one of the best cities from a survey from one of the country's leading consumer travel publications.

Norfolk is one out of four cities in Virginia to be featured as a nominee in the "Best City" category of the Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards.

The prestigious award is the longest running of its kind and celebrates the best in the travel industry.

Winners are selected entirely by readers, who rate the city on its architecture, arts & culture, friendliness, public transportation, safety and cleanliness, sights & scenery and restaurants.

“It’s a great honor for Norfolk to be nominated as Best City by Condé Nast Traveler and especially timely to celebrate the amazing people that make up our tourism industry,” said VisitNorfolk President and CEO Kurt J. Krause. “The more recognition we can get for our city, especially in the current climate, the more it will help our entire community when travel resumes. We hope people will vote and recognize what an incredible destination we have here.”

The deadline to vote is June 30. Winners will be announced on the Condé Nast Traveler website in mid-October and will appear in the November print issue.
