SALT LAKE CITY — A capsized boat that had likely been buried in the sand of the Great Salt Lake for more than 100 years was uncovered by a recent storm.

In a Facebook post, the Great Salt Lake State Park shared a photo of the wreckage, saying it was an old steel boat probably dating back to the turn of the 20th century.

"Great Salt Lake Storms can be ominous but also fascinating," the post read.

Storms on the lake sometimes completely buried sunken boats with sand, according to the park's post, but later storms can also uncover them.
