NORFOLK, Va. - Norfolk Police are investigating after a man was shot to death Tuesday night.

Police say the shooting happened around 7 p.m. in the 300 block of Reilly Street.

Officials located 48-year-old Terry A. Hendricks at the scene and took him to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.

On Wednesday, police announced that Hendricks died due to the injuries obtained during the shooting.

Neighbors tell News 3 they want more foot traffic and patrols from police because they do not feel safe. Norfolk resident Robin Powell says he's more worried about all of the children living in the area.

“This is the area where the most rapid gunfire and fighting takes place," explained Powell. “What bothers us is it’s always happening right here where those kids get on the bus at. We’re more worried about the kids getting killed.”
