PORTSMOUTH, Va. - A 14-year-old girl was injured and a 13-year-old boy was killed in a shooting in Portsmouth early Sunday morning.
Police said the call for the shooting came in at 12:02 a.m. Officers responded to the scene on Rutter Street, where they found the 13-year-old boy with a gunshot wound to his upper body. The boy was pronounced dead at the scene.
The 14-year-old girl was taken to a local hospital for treatment of a non-life threatening gunshot wound.
There is currently no suspect information, and police ask that anyone with information that could help their investigation call the Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
