PORTSMOUTH, Va - A teenage boy was involved in a crash while on the way to the hospital after being shot Thursday afternoon.
The call came in at 3:08 p.m.
Portsmouth Police told News 3 the boy was shot in the upper body. He is 14 years old.
While en route to the hospital, the vehicle crashed in the 2600 block of Frederick Boulevard. He got another ride to the hospital.
While police said he was "self-transported," it is unclear whether the teen was driving or if he was the passenger.
Police say at this point, his injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening.
There is no suspect information at this time.
