15-year-old boy shot in Suffolk; police investigating

SUFFOLK, Va. - Suffolk Police are investigating a shooting in the 900 block of Battery Avenue that left a teenager hurt Thursday evening.

Dispatchers received the call at 5:21 p.m.

Police say the victim is a 15-year-old boy. His injuries are said to be non-life-threatening. After Suffolk Fire & Rescue personnel gave him medical assessment and treatment, he was ground transported to a local hospital and flown by Nightingale to another area hospital.

The incident is still under investigation. There is no further information.
