18-year-old killed while in vehicle in Portsmouth

PORTSMOUTH, Va. – Detectives are investigating after an 18-year-old was killed on Wednesday.

Around 1 a.m. the Emergency Communication Center got a call about a single-vehicle crash.

Officers got to the scene in the 2700 block of Turnpike Road and discovered 18-year-old Talik Farmer suffering from a gunshot wound to the torso.

Police said it appeared that Farmer was in his vehicle when another individual shot him, he then crashed into a utility pole.

Life-saving measures were taken and were unsuccessful. He was pronounced dead on scene at 1:04 a.m., according to police.

Farmer’s family was notified of his passing.

Police said Sunday, November 15 that a stolen red Hyundai Santa Fe believed to be connected with the shooting was found in the 100 block of Chautauqua Avenue.
