19-year-old Elizabeth City man killed in shooting, police investigating

ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. - A juvenile was arrested Tuesday in connection to the fatal shooting of a 19-year-old man on Saturday.

Police said that at approximately 3:47 p.m. on August 22, officers responded to the area of 607 South Road Street in reference to a report of a subject suffering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen. When officers arrived on scene, they located an injured man, identified as 19-year-old Dominique Maxwell Daguizan.

Daguizan was taken to Sentara Albemarle Hospital, then airlifted to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital for treatment, where he died from his injuries.

The juvenile has been charged with murder and was transported to the juvenile detention center in Greenville.
